1） The IEC （International Electrotechnical Commission） is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national electrotechnical committees （IEC National Committees）。 The object of the IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities， the IEC publishes International Standards. Their preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with may participate in this preparatory work. International， governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this preparation. The IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization （ISO） in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the two organizations. 國際電工委員會是由各國家電工委員會（IEC國家委員會）組成的世界性標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化組織，其目的是促進(jìn)電工電子領(lǐng)域標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化問題的國際合作。為此目的，除其它活動(dòng)外，IEC發(fā)布國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的制定/撰寫由技術(shù)委員會承擔(dān)，對所涉及內(nèi)容關(guān)切的任何IEC（成員的）國家委員會均可參加標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的制定工作，與IEC有聯(lián)系的任何國際、政府和非官方組織也可以參加國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的制定。IEC與國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化組織ISO根據(jù)兩組織間協(xié)商確定的條件保持密切的合作關(guān)系。 2） The formal decisions or agreements of the IEC on technical matters express， as nearly as possible， an international consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all interested National Committees.
